This is by far the most expensive necklace I've made to date (component-wise). Now I just need somewhere to wear it!
The Orchid Necklace

images/orchid.jpg
Japanese 14/0's in silver
Japanese 11/0s in transparent blue
Japanese 11/0's in transparent amethyst
Czech "silkies" in blue
Japanese 11/0s in metallic blue/purple mix
Miyuki cobalt AB drop beads
Bali silver accent beads
One magnificent lampworked Orchid pendant
The stitch for the necklace is a "Diablo Spiral" also learned from Ginke Root's book . It is similar to a Dutch Spiral but different in several respects. The main idea was to pick up the colors of the orchid and to make a necklace that was attractive enough to compliment it.
