- commentary by Susan, the "rantin', ravin', misbehavin', bead cave maven".
We had a great deal of fun in our first cave. We ate, talked, laughed, ate,
talked, laughed ..., oh, and then some of us did some beading. Many of us
hadn't really met each other before, so there was a great deal of bead
babble, exchange of ideas, solutions, prior projects, and much other bead
related stuff. And uh, some serious bead buying was done!!!! Both in the
cave and on a 'bead run' made to a local bead store -where the four who went
got there just as they were closing and left 1 1/2 hours later - they are
all now considering bankruptcy as the only solution - LOL. The store owner
even took a run to the local convenience store to bring in liquids - a MUST
in our PHX summer uh warmth.
There was a Bead (Fairy) Box - the 'decorator' of the box resists that
title, so it was called the "Phoenix Bead Cave 2000" box and was given as a
door prize after the bead pick was finished. It was gorgeous and Mary was
the lucky winner and was more than totally delighted - it is a beauty. It's
not quite finished (will not be a UFO, just a project that became bigger
than it's time allotment), but will be put on the top of a wonderful cigar
box for holding beady things. A pic will be posted when it's finished - if
we can get it out of Mary's hands long enough.
There was also a totally generous 'cave necklace/earring' set made by all
the members of the cave as a surprise for the "Cave Maven". It's not
finished either - LOL - but is making the rounds. Needless to say, said
"Cave Maven" is MORE than thrilled with this generosity and has seen it in
it's almost finished condition and it is a WOW. Again, we'll post a pic
when it is complete.
Our attendees were: Mary AKA Da Nuc; Caryn AKA BedeQween; Tina AKA Elegant

I'm sorry I didn't do the whole cave.
We're hoping to have some one day caves in the near future - some wanted to
have one the very next weekend, we had such fun. I think we've created a
great beginning here!!!!
